Archetypal Therapy

Archetypal therapy is a unique and deep approach to healing and personal growth. It is based in the exploration of archetypes — universal patterns and themes that have been found throughout human history.

Through exploring myths, stories, and symbols, you will embark on a journey of self-exploration, inner healing, and authentic self-discovery. This path to healing will support you in addressing areas of your life that have felt stagnant or stuck, as well as deepen your relationship with your body, spirit, and sensuality. Archetypal therapy gives you an opportunity to explore your patterns and experiences from a place of wisdom, depth, and meaning.

How we can meet your goals

Guided visualizations and meditations: Guided visualizations and meditations will give you an opportunity to connect with yourself more deeply. This process will provide a portal for you to access your inner wisdom, heal past wounds, and honor your sensuality.

Journaling and creativity: Archetypal therapy can create a path towards deep inner knowing and compassion. Together, we will explore writing, journaling, and other creative practices that feels authentic to you and your healing journey.

Archetypal exploration: There are numerous archetypes, all with their own strengths and gifts as well as shadow sides. Common archetypes that we see in stories and myths include the Hero, Wounded Healer, King, Queen, Lover, Witch, Mother, and Mystic. Together, we will explore what archetypes you most connect with and how they can support your healing. I often work with myths, particularly Goddess mythology, as I have found that they offer a powerful lens through which you can explore your sexual and self-identity. Some Goddess archetypes we may explore include Aphrodite, Persephone, Hecate, Demeter, Psyche, and Artemis.

Shadow integration: While all archetypes can have gifts and lessons to help us on our healing path, they can also have a shadow side, meaning the parts of us that we don’t like or that we reject. If you have ever felt like you judge parts of yourself or feel ashamed of your sexuality, fantasies, or your authentic self, archetypal therapy can help. This process of exploring these parts of yourself with curiosity and compassion can can be an important part of the path towards more wholeness, confidence, joy, and pleasure.

Exploring Meaning and purpose: Exploring archetypes gives us the opportunity to connect with our common humanity. Through archetypal therapy, we will look at your patterns, struggles, and goals from an archetypal perspective. This approach supports you in accessing meaning, purpose, and healing from a place of inner wisdom and empowerment.

My approach

Inner wisdom: In archetypal therapy, I will act as a non-judgmental guide, sharing encouragement, resources, and concrete skills to help support you in accessing your inner wisdom and strengths.

Integrative: When working with archetypes, I may integrate other approaches including mindfulness, embodiment, sex therapy, and self-compassion practices. I created this integrative and holistic approach to honor and support your unique path to healing.
